Hello friends and neighbours of Beccles! As the evenings draw in and the town starts to sparkle, we’re getting into the festive spirit with a host of seasonal events right here in Beccles. Whether you’re looking for wreath-making, carols, tree trails or that big light switch-on moment, we’ve got something for everyone. Don’t miss out — mark your diaries!
🎅 Christmas Highlights
Christmas Tree Festival – Friday 28 November (from 10am) through to Sunday 30th November at Hungate Church (12 A Hungate, Beccles NR34 9TT). Entry £2 (children accompanied go free). Refreshments available.
Christmas Light Switch-On – Friday 28th November, starting at 5pm across the town centre, St Michaels Church and Beccles Public Hall & Theatre. Expect many craft stalls, live music, food caterers, late-night shopping, and a magical moment when the lights come on and a secret visit from Santa himself in the church (Grotto open 5pm-8pm).
Christmas Tree Trail – Running from Friday 28th November to Friday 19th December: explore the town-centre shops to find decorated trees, look out for the letter on each tree to spell the year’s festive phrase. Entry free; download a trail form or pick up a leaflet from participating shops.
Wreath-Making Sessions at Old School Coffee, Waveney House Hotel and Fen Lane – Various dates available: get creative with foliage, guided by Craftylar and enjoy a festive drink and treat.
Evening Christmas Shopping Fair – Saturday 6th December. An evening to browse a variety of stalls selling Christmas gifts. Free Entry
“A Christmas Cracker!” – Saturday 14 December, 4.30pm-6.30pm. A festive concert (tickets via Beccles Bookshop or email).

Town centre shopping, festive atmosphere & community spirit – Throughout December, keep an eye on the local independent shops, the Friday Market, late-night openings, and support our fantastic hospitality establishments.
